Android SEO Applications
The Android market has been lacking in SEO applications (in comparison to the iPhone), but in the recent months, it really caught up. It doesn't have the same caliber of SEO apps, but at least it has a decent selection.
In this article, I'm going to run through each of the current Android SEO apps, and give a quick summary (and yes, I have tried them all).
SiteRank Pro (and Lite)
The lite version just retrieves the Google PageRank and Alexa Ranking, and keeps a historical view (same as the SiteRank on the iPhone).
With the introduction of the pro version, it had the same features as the lite, except it also retrieves raw data about the source, pages indexed in the search engines, external/internal links, and option to do a whois on the domain.
The only bad thing about this app is that it's not so pretty - hopefully that'll change soon.
The pro has a price tag of £4.99.
SEO Tips by Brick Marketing & SEO Noobie
I decided to put these two apps together, because they pretty much do the same thing.
This isn't really a tool, but it can provide you with useful information. The apps allow you to view recent seo tips and even view twitter posts from Brick Marketing.
Unfortunately, there isn't much more to write about it - you can check it out for yourself and see what you think. It's also free, so there's a bonus.
Keyword Checker
This app allows you to enter a website, and then proceeds to scan it looking for keywords - once it completes the scan, it returns the top one, two, and three phrase keywords on the site searched.
The information can be quite useful for SEO professionals, but this app won't win any design contests - it can be quite hard to read, as it's basically just a wall of text.
SEO Tool for android
I was kind of shocked when I tried this application out - it's basically just an imbedded browser in an app shell, which loads a website.
So, you're basically just doing a search on a domain via some site.
The information it returns is as follows: PR (was broken though), Google Pages indexed & links, Yahoo pages & links, Bing pages & links, Alexa rank & links.
I think you're better off just opening a browser and going to an SEO site for more accurate info.
SEO Pagerank Backlink
This app basically gives you the option to retrieve the Google PageRank or if you go to the other tab (it has 2 tabs), you can find out the backlinks (sites that link to the domain) of the searched site.
Other than the fact that it's not a pretty app, I found it quite useful - it looked like it was only getting results from Google, though.
SEO Automatic (and Lite)
I downloaded this app just out of sheer curiosity, but the first time I tried using it it was scattered with errors.
I ended up trying it again just recently, and it actually worked this time - the data it provides is quite basic, but at least it's something.
It basically scans the source, and lets you know if you have certain tags in place, like the h1 tag, or if you have titles set up for images.
I wouldn't recommend this for SEO professionals, as it doesn't actually retrieve any raw data - it just tells you whether it's ok or not, and explains each category.

It checks domains for Google PR, backlinks, Alexa rank, Facebook shares, Twitter shares, and a bunch of other info.
